Title of dissertation: Image Analysis on DEM to Find Volcanic Edifices (Analisi di immagine di DEM per l’individuazione di edifici vulcanici).

My work thesis focused on quantitative geomorphic analysis (Mathematical Morphology) with Matlab and various GIS programs on Digital Elevation Models to automate finding of volcanic edifices.

Geological excursion, March 2007 ​

Measurement and sampling of stratigraphic sections, facies analysis and detailed geological surveys in the Aguada Pichana area (Neuquen Embayment, Argentina). Drafting of a palaeoenvironmental context for the examined formations, containing important fossil deposits. Analysis of a rock formation exceptionally deformed in the past by an earthquake.
